'Talk for Scotland' was produced by Communication Forum Scotland. It is part of the Civil Participation Network project. The project was funded by the Equality Unit, Scottish Government.
Talk for Scotland is a practical toolkit for decision-makers and service providers. It offers key advice on how to engage with people with varied communication support needs. The focus is on needs beyond those related to sensory impairments and having English as an additional language.
The aim of the toolkit is to remove barriers that may prevent people with communication difficulties participate in these local, regional and national activities.
We wish to do this by increasing awareness of the variety of communication support needs that people have in Scotland.
This toolkit does not have all the answers. It has been written to assist individuals with responsibility for consultation to ask the right questions and formulate practical answers.
